The Electoral Literacy Club at VSISCM is a platform that aims to educate students about the electoral process and promote civic engagement. The club conducts informative seminars and interactive workshops, providing students with valuable insights into the democratic process, electoral laws, and active participation in shaping the nation's future. It bridges theoretical knowledge with practical application, encouraging students to critically analyse political scenarios, understand stakeholder roles, and make informed decisions. The club organizes mock elections, debates, and discussions, fostering a vibrant space for students to voice opinions and exchange ideas. It collaborates with experts in politics and governance to bring real-world perspectives to the forefront, equipping students with the skills to navigate the complexities of the democratic process. The club is not just an extracurricular activity but a stepping stone for students to become active and responsible participants in society.

Objectives

  • To educate students about the importance of voting and the electoral process by providing information on voter registration procedures, eligibility criteria, and deadlines.
  • To facilitates debates, panel discussions, and seminars on political topics, promoting critical thinking and informed decision-making through unbiased information on ideologies and policies.
  • To organize voter registration drives within the campus and Encourage students to actively participate in local, regional, and national elections.
  • To instil a sense of civic responsibility and ethical behaviour in students through promoting the values of fair play, honesty, and integrity in the electoral process.
